Came to Nelson, New Zealand by the barque "Constantine" in 1854. This left England on January 1. On board were James, labourer 34, wife Mary Ann 32, Elizabeth 9, Mary Ann 4, Alfred, 5 and Arthur aged one. He was a flour miller. The flour grinding stone he brought to New Zealand was thrown overboard as the seas were too rough at the Nelson harbour to allow the ship to come into harbour.

Lived for a long time on the main road to Nelson, between Appleby and Hope.

Arrived in Nelson by the baque "Constantine" in 1854 after it left England on 1 of January . Her brother also came to New Zealand.

Mary Ann is buried in block 10, plot 19 of the Richmond Cemetery

On her death the property was divided between James William, John and Lucy JARY who may have been unable to support themselves. William HILL was executor.

Buried with James and her brother David.
